What is API 600 Wedge Gate valve ?

The opening and closing parts of the API 600 Wedge Gate valve  are the gate, the direction of motion of the gate is perpendicular to the fluid direction. The wedge gate valve can only be fully opened and fully closed and can not be adjusted and throttled. It consists of a valve body, a bonnet, and a disk that is connected to a hinge. The disk swings away from the valve-seat to allow flow in the forward direction, and returns to valve-seat when upstream flow is stopped, to prevent back flow.
