Product Overview

Nortech Engineering Corporation has completed delivery of 37 units of double flange butterfly valve designed to AWWA C207 Class B standard. The valves are sized at DN1000 (40 inches) with a rated pressure of 150 psi (PN10). The valve body is manufactured from ductile iron, and the design follows the double-flanged end connection configuration for direct bolting to AWWA-pattern pipework.

This shipment represents a large-diameter order executed by our double flange butterfly valve factory and demonstrates our capacity to handle high-volume, high-specification projects on schedule.

Technical Specifications

The disc and stem are manufactured from duplex stainless steel grade 2507 (UNS S32750), selected for its outstanding resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and chloride stress corrosion cracking. The seat utilises an EPDM resilient liner to ensure bubble-tight shut-off across the full pressure rating. Each valve incorporates a manual gearbox operator sized for the DN1000 bore.

The external coating system complies with ISO 12944 Classification CX-H, the highest durability category defined for extremely corrosive industrial and offshore environments. This paint specification ensures long service life where conventional coatings would fail prematurely due to heat, humidity, and chemical exposure.

These double flanged high performance butterfly valve units are destined for a cooling tower project in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Cooling tower valves operating in the Gulf region are subjected to elevated ambient temperatures, high humidity, and aggressive water chemistries, making the combination of duplex 2507 internals and ISO 12944 CX-H coating critical to asset longevity. The AWWA C207 Class B pressure rating aligns with the large-bore water circulation circuits typical of industrial cooling systems in the region.
