What is Resilient Seated Butterfly Valve Wafer Type?

Resilient Seated Butterfly Valve — also referred to as "concentric", "rubber lined" or "rubber seated" butterfly valve — features a rubber (resilient) seat between the external diameter of the disc and the internal wall of the valve body.

A quarter-turn valve that rotates 90° to open or close fluid flow. The circular disc (the "butterfly") sits at the center of the body and acts as the closing mechanism, connected to an actuator or handle through the shaft.

When the disc does not rotate to a full quarter-turn, the valve is partially open — enabling flow regulation at various opening angles.

Wafer type — front & side view

Wafer Butterfly Valve — the most compact design with short face-to-face dimension. Fits between two flanges, secured by studs passing from one flange through the other. The valve is held in place and sealed with gaskets under stud tension.
